Weekly Tips from RockIt Mom:

1. GREEN -  Here are just a couple of ideas to round out your green activities. Take your own cup to your favorite coffee shop, you may even get a 10 cent credit.  Use hand dryers in public restrooms, instead of paper towels which are not recyclable.  Use cotton fabric rags to clean the house and save almost $72/month.  My new favorite: Throwing a party, instead of buying disposable tablecloths, go to a fabric shop.  Buy remnants of fabric and finish the edge.  Some large pieces can be bought for less than $2. Or buy flat sheets and cut to fit your tables.  Finish the edges and you have a new tablecloth for less than $5.

2. HEALTH - To stay healthy, happy, and sane while trying to figure out “just how much you can eat per day”, try this formula:  Your Weight x 11 = Number of calories you need to eat per day to lose one (1) pound per week. Example:   155 lbs x 11 = 1705 calories per day.  This amount is completely doable with lots of fruits and veggies.

3. RECIPE - See Banana Sour Cream Pancakes posted below.

Have a great week and remember you need to sleep at least 8 hours per night.  Women who are consistently sleep deprived tend to have high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems, obesity, depression, diabetes.

What a great idea! A friend of mine has a small business making hand embellished t-shirts. She goes through lots of fabric. With the “scraps” she makes cloth napkins, she just cuts to size and does not “finish” the edges. Another great idea!
