Tips from RockIt Mom:

GREEN - Small, Simple, and Free: Recycling your Toothbrushes.

Even the small things do add when it comes to landfills. Toothbrushes and razor blade handles seem small enough that they should be the least of your worries, but they can be recycled as well! You can get a postage paid envelope from Preserve Recyling  that will allow you to send up to 13 ounces for no cost. Add several at one time to be more efficient.

HEALTHY - New Twist on Limes -

Besides margaritas, mint julieps and ice tea,  limes are great for hangovers. Ease the aftershock of one too many with this remedy Combine 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice and 1/4 teaspoon sugar. Add to an 8-ounce glass of water and drink slowly, first thing in the morning. Lime refreshes the liver and sugar helps stabilize blood glucose, which dips after drinking, leading to that groggy feeling.

Disease Fighter. Add a squeeze of lime juice to a cup of green tea for a supercharged health drink. The Vitamin C in citrus juice allows more of the tea’s catechins—antioxidants that are believed to fight heart disease, stroke, and cancer—to be absorbed during digestion.

RECIPE - Peanut Butter and Banana Muffins.  These are amazing.  Skip over to the Recipe Tab for more details.

Thought to Ponder:  How do you save money on your groceries?  With all the Farmer’s Markets popping up in every city, is this really a less expensive way to buy your produce?  How about the CSA boxes?  Do you spend more supplementing your boxes?

Have a great week and let’s hear your thoughts.
