Weekend Stuff for October 2 & 3, 2010

There is so much happening this month, I will try to keep up.

FREE ADMISSION TO THE ZOO & WILD ANIMAL PARK for kids under 12 yrs. old. The whole month of October, children are free at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.  And adults get 10% off with their AAA cards. 

Spooky Science Bug Invasion at Discovery Science Center, Santa Ana, CA. This is Oct. 2-31, 2010.

Knott’s Scary Farm has two events; Halloween Haunt for over 13 yrs. old and Snoopy’s Costume Party for 3-11 yrs. old. This is going on all month.

Brick-or-Treat at Legoland- Pumpkin stations; photo opportunities- this is all month long. Saturday night is Brick-or-Treat from 5-9pm.

Halloween Spooktacular at Seaworld - Cookie decorating, trick-or-treating, seasonal shows and photo opportunities.  Saturday and Sunday all month long. And kids are free with paid Adult ticket or Adults get kid priced ticket and kids still get in free!

Get out and enjoy the family – The 4th Annual Shamu & You Walk is Sat. October 2, 2010 at 8 am to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. All participants will receive a Shamu & You t-shirt, free admission to the post-Walk festivities and a discount coupon to return to SeaWorld after the Walk.

Julian Apple Days Festival.  Apple Days Festival will be held October 2nd and 3rd at Menghini Winery featuring apple displays, music and dancing, an antique tractor display, children’s games and activities, gold panning demonstrations, a beer and wine garden, food and merchandise vendors, contests, and, of course, apple pie. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday. The admission is $5 for adults with children 12 and under free of charge.

Oktoberfest in La Mesa, CA. Oct. 1-3, 2010.  One of the biggest traditional Oktoberfest in the County.

Oktoberfest in El Cajon, CA. Oct. 1-3 & 8-10, 2010. Parade, German food biergarten, bands and games.

MCAS Miramar Air Show in San Diego, CA. Oct. 1-3, 2010.  Blue Angels, air demonstrations and fireworks.

Oceanside Harbor Days in Oceanside, CA. Oct. 2-3, 2010 at the harbor.  Arts, crafts, live music, food, sailing and tall ships.

And one more, it wouldn’t be Southern California without a surf competition: The Cardiff Surf Classic, Oct. 2&3, 2010 all day!
