Ms. T has great insight for ALL moms!

Does a Stay At Home Mom really stay at home? Does a Working Mom only work 9-5pm? What does Mom do for herself?

There are some amazing websites out there.  Rockitmom, Six Sisters, etc.  They provide a ton of information and support to women.  I was just sitting here though and thinking about when women were able to actually get together on a regular basis and not just to have a girls night out with some drinks.  My mom was able to stay home for a period of time and I can remember her bowling every Wednesday with her friends.  They would also get together and play pennies.  I also remember her friends just stopping by for coffee.   They would sit and visit and laugh and cry and just be. For the most part that is a long gone luxury for most.  It doesn’t matter if you are working in an office or working by keeping the house running..nobody has time.  We dash off to drop the kids off to school, to a meeting, to work out, to volunteer, to a presentation.  How many of you have had this conversation in the last two months :Hi (insert friends name here) I had a few minutes to talk while I was going from (insert place here) to (insert place) just wanted to touch base and see how you are”.  If we are lucky those conversations last 10 minutes.  Have you noticed all the sayings that have popped up about how you may not see a true friend in a long time but you pick right back up when you do?  It is because we have to make ourselves feel better about not making time.  We have a lot of touch and go conversations with people that we would like to have good long talks with. What does this have to do with weight loss and a healthy lifestyle?  A lot.  We fall into bad habits, like skipping breakfast, eating in our car and bringing home something for dinner because we are so busy dashing about to meet all of our commitments.  We don’t exercise because if we do have an extra 30 minutes in our day, we feel guilty if we aren’t using it productively.  Productive may mean more time at the office, fixing snacks for the soccer team, or just more snuggle time for our kids whom we have been away from all day.  Are these productive?  Yes, no one can argue against snuggles.  However, healthy lifestyles involve limits and boundaries. These limits are not only on calories, carbohydrates, alcohol and fats.  They are limits on how much we can commit to and still be sane.  They are limits on how much we can give away of ourselves and still have anything left.  Learning to live a healthy lifestyle has meant it is ok if my kids don’t participate in every event they want to.  It means setting boundaries and not giving away all of me until I can only do touch and go conversations with my oldest and dearest friends.  It may mean limiting my working lunches so I can have lunch with friends (the closest substitute for stopping for coffee).  It also means finding that time for exercise because it is important and because I have to recognize that I am important.

I merely could not go away your website prior to suggesting that I extremely loved the standard information a person provide to your guests? Is going to be again frequently in order to inspect new posts
