During a stress management class this week, I was given a number of stress reducers. Here is one to slow you down and just think about reducing your stress.
Take a sip of water. Hold it in your mouth for 20 seconds. Do not swallow. Focus on the water in your mouth. What does it feel like? Is it cool? Is it warm? Why did you take this drink? Were you thirsty? Were you bored? Were you hungry?
After 20 seconds start to swallow the water SSSLLLOOOWWWLLYYY. Feel it trickle down your throat. Think of it slowing dripping into our stomach. Did it satisfy the reason why you took the sip?
