Weekly Tips for September 27, 2010

In today’s Sunday paper by the Union Tribune, they had a great insert on “ARE YOU READY?” for the next 72 hours if you are in a disaster.  It had great and very useful and insightful information.  It looked like the perfect way to roll up all our tips (green, health and food) into one informative article.  However, the UT has not made it available on-line.  So back to the life of “bing” and “Google” and found these great sites.  So here are your weekly tips of green, health and food, all rolled into one.

Child Safety Event on May 25, 2010 in San Marcos, CA

TAKE 25 EVENT in SAN MARCOS on MAY 25, 2010 @ 5pm.

On Tuesday, May 25th, you can join the City of San Marcos, San Diego Sheriff’s Department and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office in the TAKE 25 campaign, a nation-wide event to raise awareness on child safety.

In honor of the May 25th National Missing Children’s Day, the City of San Marcos is hosting a presentation on child safety and child abduction prevention and there will be free fingerprinting for children. Phyllis Adkisson Shess, Deputy District Attorney, Director of Sex Offender Management from the DA’s office and a member of the SAFE Task Force will be providing information on current laws and restrictions for sex offenders.

Doors will open at 5:00 pm for free child fingerprinting and the presentation will begin at 5:30 pm at the San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos, CA 92069. For more information, please contact San Marcos Crime Prevention at (760) 744-1050, ext. 3111.
