New Twist on Support Our Schools

Posted on 04. May, 2010 in Uncategorized

We all want to help our school system.  But how, well RockIt Mom is trying a new way — to let everyone know about local and current fundraisers where you can help a local school or take the idea to your PTO/PTA and see if you can get it going at your school.

Here is our first one — Take Me Out to the Ballgame. La Costa Meadows has partnered with the Padres for tickets, parking and a real family fun night out.  Best part, this is also a fundraising event.  Head over to the  Support Our Schools tab, under FOR KIDS and pick a game to take your family to and help a school!

RockIt Mom is painfully aware of the massive budget cuts to our schools.  To help offset these cuts, RockIt Mom is offerring a partnership with schools.  Check out the passive fundraiser we are holding with the North County campus of  High Tech High.

If you would like to have us help your school, please feel free to contact us at Dana@RockItMom.com.

Weekly Tips from RockIt Mom:

1. GREEN -  We find ourselves stumped with the infamous questions “Can this be recycled?”.  We know the standard ones (aluminum cans, glass, paper, cardboard, magazines, newspapers, styrofoam), but what about those plastic clamshell containers?  Go to Earth 911 and they will tell you all the recycling centers closest to your zip code and what you can take there.

2. HEALTH - To stay healthy, happy, and wise, come to the WOMEN ROCK! Event sponsored by RockIt Mom!  There will be every type of women oriented vendor you could possibly need; a bra fitting, dinner on busy nights, a facial, massage, surf lessons, chocolate and wine!  It is this Sunday,  March 7, 2010 from 1-4 pm.  If you aren’t local, we will have pictures and more info for you to contact the fabulous vendors.  Check out the Facebook page: Women Rock, A Health & Lifestyle Event for Women to RSVP for this event.  We will have amazing goody bags to the first 100 women!

3. RECIPE - To keep your metabolism up and running, here are some go to lunches and snacks that work wonders.

- Whole wheat tortilla with 1-2 tbls. of peanut/almond butter, sliced whole banana;

-Morningstar Veggiburger, whole wheat pita, 1 tbls. of hummus, shredded carrots/broccolli/cabbage;

RockIt Mom is helping local schools

Posted on 06. Feb, 2010 in SOS - Support Our Schools

RockIt Mom is painfully aware of the massive budget cuts to our schools.  To help offset these cuts, RockIt Mom is offerring a partnership with schools.

Here is an example of our recent partnership at La Costa Meadows.

RockIt Mom is conducting a Passive Fundraiser to La Costa Meadows Elementary School.  The goal of this fundraiser to help parents of La Costa Meadows students a way to help support their PTO and ultimately get money to the kids. For every package purchased, RockIt Mom will return a percentage of the package back to the school.  There are also certain designated LCM days.  If a member comes on a LCM day, purchases a package a larger percentage of the purchase is given back to the school.  There are also other incentives if a LCM member brings another LCM parent and they purchase a package.

Visit the Las Costa Meadows PTO Website – RockIt Mom Passive Fundraiser

We are also currently working with other elementary schools, a San Marcos Unified High School and Middle School.  If you are interested in this passive fundraiser for your school, just let us know.  Please provide us the name of the school you would like to support and the contact individual for passive fundraisers.
