February 2012 is Lifestyle Changes to Your Snacks.

Posted on 06. Feb, 2012 in Food, Uncategorized

We have been talking all year – okay January 2012 – about small lifestyle changes because 2012 is our year to get in gear! Little changes make a big difference in the long run. As opposed to strict denial of everything which is ultimately going to lead to going back to your old ways.

Every Morning is a New Chance to get Healthy

Posted on 11. Dec, 2011 in Food, Uncategorized

A friend recently said she needs one week of eating healthy and working out and she will be on track. That is a great achievable goal, but it is definitely going to take more than one week.  Studies show, most people are excited and dedicated to a new “healthy lifestyle” Monday to Wednesday. Then comes Thursday, getting closer to the weekend, Friday with donuts at the office and happy hour. Once the weekend hits, all healthy ideas are out the window. That “one week” is really only about 3 days and it keeps re-starting every Monday. So, in reality you need more than a week. We all know you can’t change everything at once.  Little modifications which once they become habit, then onto the next modification. This week we are starting with our first modification: Eating Healthy. (more…)

Worst Food for that Beach Body

Posted on 13. Jun, 2011 in Uncategorized

Isn’t it ironic that people who are healthy most of the time, exercise and are super conscious of food throw all of that out the window when they are at the beach.  Last time at the beach we saw a very fit man, reading Men’s Health, drinking regular Coke and a eating a Costco size bag of Doritos. What happened here? Is there a special “zone” that you can eat whatever you want at the beach and nothing happens? I completely understand indulging when the cravings are there.  Wait….oh, I thought I heard Baskin Robbins calling.  (more…)

Have you heard what is going on in our world? The riots, the death, destruction and terrible illnesses.  It really requires us to take a long look at what we have going on in our own personal lives and evaluate it as “really that bad?”  We have heard some terrible news about family friends sufferring from life ending diseases and financial ruin.  So, is it “really that bad” that you ate some cake over the weekend?
