Tired of the same thing, so are we! Time to switch it up a little. So this week, we are providing information that I bet you didn’t know or some fun facts to break out of the workout routine, Mom routine and Life routine!

IT IS ALL ABOUT CHANGE AND INSPIRING CHANGE!

SNACKING: How to snack sensibly.  Use muffin liners to portion control your snacks.  A muffin liner is about 1/2 cup or 50 calories. So use them for berries, chips, popcorn, pretzels and cherry tomatoes. (more…)

Weekly Tips for Dec. 6, 2010

It is only 19 days to Christmas and already people are letting their fitness routines, slide away.  This is the most important time to follow through and keep up the fabulous work you have been doing. GUILTY-have had some early eggnog, cookies and cheer but right back into the routine Monday morning.  You have to do keep your fitness up, not only for you, but the rest of your family. You are the POWERHOUSE behind your family.  If they see you slipping, they will most definitely slide, too. Be strong, if you can’t get to your regular gym or class, jump over to the Fitness tab and there are plenty of at home exercises or one of my favorites, turn off Oprah and turn on Exercise or Fit TV. Corn, Mango & Edamame Salad

Super easy summer salad with high protein and fiber, is it too good to be true?

2 cups shelled edamame

1.5 cups corn kernels (preferably fresh)

1.5 cups of mango cubes

1 cup chopped tomato (preferably Roma)

1/2 cup chopped red onion

2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro – without stems

1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lime juice

3/4 tsp. salt (preferably rock/sea salt)

1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Prepare edamame, rinse with cool water and set aside. Put all ingredients into large bowl and add edamame. Toss well. Refrigerate about 30 min. and serve. Also, can be served at room temperature it all depends on your preference. Makes 6 servings. Per serving: 160 calories, 9 gr. protein, 6 gr. fiber.
